Triple digits headed our way!

It's warming up out there, Come experience Shasta Lake!!!!
Shasta Lake’s many arms and inlets
make it a great place for explorers of all kinds.
The four arms of the lake have many
spectacular sights, as well as, geologic and historic
areas of interest.
Shasta Lake is California’s largest reservoir,
it also happens to host one of the largest
populations of nesting bald eagles in California.
As of May 2009, the Shasta and
Trinity Units of the Whiskeytown-
Shasta Trinity National Recreation Area
support at least 31 pairs of resident
eagles, including 18 pairs at Shasta
Lake (there also are 10 pairs at Trinity
Lake and three pairs at Lewiston Lake).
This constitutes close to 20 percent of
the nesting eagles in California.

Thunderstorms and warm rains....

We've had quite a few Thunderstorms pass through the area for June..... Warm days and some hit and miss rain here at Shasta Lake. We have 16 boats going out over the weekend, to enjoy this radical weather. Summer is just getting rolling and we'll take every bit of moisture we can accumulate before the real heat sets in. Fishing is good! Everything is still green and we are sitting at 55' from the crest. Very NICE!

Samwel Cave

Samwel Cave sits high above the McCloud Arm of Shasta Lake, a place worth visiting and the view from it is spectacular. The interior is very interesting and there are little rooms to explore. If you're into spelunking, there is an 80' pit that gains access to more rooms, a key from the Forest Service is required to see that section. The Wintu Indians told of a legend of Indian Maidens and Samwel Cave.

Very exciting to FINALLY see the lake from the office, again! The view as you cross the Pit River Bridge is filling up nicely, islands are disappearing, leaving only a great watery panoramic view of Shasta Lake. It's looking absolutely gorgeous.

Shasta Lake 2009

Four Rivers are brought together by Shasta Dam to form this incredible recreational wonder. Located in the Shasta-Trinity National Forest in Northern California, it is truly the perfect house boating lake.

The 2009 water levels are down, so far, but we are optimistic. The lake is still beautiful and there are almost 200 shoreline miles to explore right now, as well as, the historical remains that are being exposed all around the area. Come and explore this amazing place...
