Beauty at Shasta Lake

We are now at 65.4'! I spent Saturday out on the lake up the McCloud Arm, it's looking so beautiful! It was sunny and warm. The water is up and the animals are out. We saw so many bald eagles, ducks and geese. Gorgeous day on the lake.

We've hit the 60's

Today, we are sitting at 69.56' from the crest. I can see the water creeping around the corner towards Shasta Marina's Reservations Office. Very exciting to FINALLY see the lake from the office, again! The view as you cross the Pit River Bridge is filling up nicely, islands are disappearing, leaving only a great watery panoramic view of Shasta Lake. It's looking absolutely gorgeous.

It's raining, It's pouring!!!!

On Friday of last week, we measured in at 84.64'. It was sunny and warm, beautiful day on Shasta Lake! While houseboating for the weekend, I was so pleased to see the positive changes in the lake. The shoreline is seriously disappearing and everything looks so wonderful!!! Fisherman everywhere, people touring Shasta Dam, there was actually a line.... Nice to see people out in March, enjoying the lake. It's been raining hard since Saturday evening. We have come up 4 feet since Friday and it's still raining!!!!

Shasta Lake

This photo was taken from O'Brien Mountain above the Sacaramento Arm on March 10, 2009.
We've had several days of sunshine, but we're still on the rise. We are 84.64' from the treeline.
Yesterday, we moved our docks in one position, to the new Point B. It's very exciting to have the Marina coming back towards our entrance!!!

No Rain today, but we're still coming up!

We are measuring in at 92.84' at 4:30 pm. We are expecting a few days of sunshine and then more storms coming in next Thursday. In the meantime, the creeks are swollen and and just pouring into the lake. The sound of rushing water is so nice!!!!

We broke a 100' !!!

This morning we measured in at 96.7'!!! Very exciting to be under the 100'! Not only does it look great, this also means most of the ramps around the lake are about to become functional once again.
